I realize its not sugaring off season yet but as a newly relocated Montrealer you need to know about a specatacular sugar shack that gets booked out months in advance. Its the Pied de Cochon cabane à sucre. You may know the Pied de cochon restaurant in Montreal (and if you don't ... you do now so go!) The Chef, Martin Picard has brought his signature "over-the-topness" (foie gras poutine anyone?) to the lowly cabane à sucre. With his trademark enthusiasm and infamous gluttony he has managed to create a cabane à sucre that is actually spectacularly delicious while staying true to the tradition of the mainstay dishes you find everywhere.
